Scene 2 - The Writer

I started writing when I was eight years old. My mother, a painter, English teacher and guidance counselor, was my first encourager and publisher.

I live between Spencer, Iowa and the Lakes area of Okoboji, Iowa. It is a very arts-rich area and I am thrilled to make connections to various arts organizations including the following:

Curiel Reynolds School of Visual Arts

The Curiel Reynolds School of Visual Arts in Spencer, Iowa. They offer instruction in neon, stained glass, glass blowing and other visual arts disciplines. Louis "Tony" Curiel and his son Jon Curiel are very talented artisans who have created some amazing public spaces in our region.

They also have a lovely performance/reception spaceĀ  I hope to rent for rehearsals, readings and possibly performances of my plays.

I also teach a creative writing course called Jumpstart Your Writing at the Curiel School.

Spencer Community Theatre

The Spencer Community Theatre is a fabulous local theatre showing Broadway hits as well as more experimental work performed by very talented local casts. They have been extremely supportive of my work.

Arts on Grand

Arts on Grand -- an art gallery in Spencer that is also very supportive of local artists in many disciplines.

Pearson Lakes Art Center

The Pearson Lakes Art Center is a beautiful gallery, exhibition and performance space in Okoboji.
I am excited to be a more eclectic artist, working as an essayist, playwright and fiction writer.

I will use this space for updates on auditions, rehearsals, readings, performances, etc.
